CORRECTION OF UNILATERAL CLEFT LIP NOSE DEFORMITY BY OPEN RHINOPLASTY TECHNIQUE

Abstract
|
|
|
The typical unilateral cleft lip nose deformity usually consists of 10 identifiable components that may exist in varying degree.
Despite increased attention to nasal complement of primary cleft lip reconstruction, the repair of the secondary cleft lip nose deformity is a challenging and often frustrating undertaking, because of complex deformities, difficult technique and uncertain result of repair.
Open Rhinoplasty technique provides the direct good visualization of all nasal structures, so the operator is able to sculpture, reposition, relocate and fix more easily and finely than any other technique.
We corrected 15 patients of unilateral cleft lip deformity by using Open Rhinoplasty technique during last 2 years from 1988 to 1989.
